Nova Launcher v5.0 is out after numerous betas with Pixel Launcher features, new gestures, and more


Did you know that today is the fifth anniversary of Nova Launcher? In celebration of this occasion, the v5.0 update to Nova Launcher is being released in the Play Store. This update has been in beta testing for a while, but now everyone can get it without joining the beta.

Here’s the full changelog for Nova Launcher v5.0.

  • Swipe to open drawer (a la Pixel Launcher)
  • New Pixel style searchbar
  • New search view, with tabs for Frequent, Recent and New/Updated apps
  • New “Timeout” screen lock method
  • New double-tap-swipe gestures
  • Android 7.1 launcher shortcuts
  • Dock backgrounds to draw under navbar
  • Quick start to easily change major settings (Nova Settings > Backup > Quick start)

So, if you want to make your launcher look and work more like the Pixel Launcher, Nova supports that now.
