It has been a while since we last covered 500px, but it remains a popular platform for photographers to share their work. Users can organize their pictures into galleries, and occasionally participate in ‘Photo Quest’ challenges to win prizes. Now the company has been acquired by Visual China Group, which now has 100% of 500px’s shares.
In July 2015, VCG invested around $13 million in 500px, and became the exclusive distributor of the platform’s images in China.
